Broadwater Lodge in Godalming, Surrey, provides award-winning dementia, residential, and respite care for older people.

Most residents are living with dementia, so our expert team looks for ways to make each day fulfilling. Our creative, skilled and compassionate team understand that great dementia care is all about seeing the person behind the dementia. We focus on what residents can do, rather than what they can’t.

Our unique facilities include a pub, cinema, hair salon, sweet shop and vintage-style kitchen. And have you heard about our farmyard? There are pigs, a miniature pony, goats, rabbits and guinea pigs.

We pride ourselves on the transparency of our care quality and fee information - ensuring you can trust us to care from that very first step.

At Broadwater Lodge we do more than tailor activities to individual residents’ needs – we tailor the environment of the home itself. We’ve adopted chickens to help to bring a resident out of herself and we’ve created a nursery area to tempt a lady out of her room. We stop at nothing to ensure residents are happy and fulfilled in their daily lives.

I’m really proud of the atmosphere we have created at Broadwater Lodge – I’d describe it as a ‘home from home’ and that’s often the first thing people say when they walk through the door. Every day is different here, and that’s down to the work of our three excellent lifestyle coordinators. They do a great job working with the residents, understanding what they want to do and coming up with new and exciting ideas.

Whenever I go the staff they are always helpful and make you feel welcome. They all know my name and my relative feels at home. Whatever my relative wants, they help her out with it. I visit regularly and see that she gets all the care she needs and they can't do enough for her.

They have looked after my Mum so well, they call me to let me know of problems and issues, and because I cannot go in its very difficult, but the support they have given her has been tremendous and my mum is as happy as she can be.

The staff seem happy and bouncy and attentive. They know the residents well and the things they like and dislike. Very supportive. If someone is disruptive, they are good at removing that person if anyone is upset.

They keep us in touch with her care, they welcome us every time we go there on a visit.

My mum is a real character and they understand her. She can be a bit cheeky, some can take it as rudeness but the staff don't, she makes them laugh and they make her laugh, they totally understand her. They have given me back my mum, it’s really lovely, the fact they take her to the pub in the home is great. They still allow her to go in her room in the afternoon as she likes her space. She can do what she wants to do, which is lovely.
